This past week, at the Democratic National
Convention, the Democratic Party released an updated version of their party's
platform. The part of the Democratic National Platform that disturbs me the most is the section that
deals with "Protecting a Women's Right to Choose." Below is an
except from this section...
"The Democratic
Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to
make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion,
regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or
undermine that right. " (link to full text here)
There is some very strong language used in the except above. The Democratic party "STRONGLY and UNEQUIVOCALLY" supports abortion and will oppose "ANY and ALL" efforts to limit women from getting an abortion. This means, a woman who is 40 weeks pregnant can kill her baby for any reason what so ever. This means a woman does not have to have a "medical condition" or "mental health condition" or be the victim of rape or incest. No, she can decide the second before her baby is born that she just doesn't want her baby to live and the Democrat party supports her killing her unborn (or partially born) child.
The Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 was passed to prohibit doctors from
performing the procedure of delivering a live child up to their neck and then
ending the life of the child by removing their brain through their exposed
neck. The constitutionality of the law was upheld in 2007 by the Supreme
Court in Gonzales v. Carhart. As we know, Leroy Carhart currently practices late
term abortions in Germantown, MD at Germantown Reproductive Health Services.
But (as far as we know) he complies with this law by giving the child a
lethal injection 4 days before dismembering and "delivering" the dead
child.
The Democratic party platform opposes "ANY
and ALL" effort to undermine the right of a woman to obtain an abortion.
The Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act is an example of an "effort to
undermine" a woman's right to end the life of her child. Do
Democrats understand that by being a member of the Democrat party you are
supporting partial birth abortions of a healthy 40 week child to a healthy
mother literally seconds and inches away from a complete birth?
Several weeks ago, it was reported by one of the
sidewalk counselors in Germantown, MD that Leroy Carhart turned away a women
seeking an abortion. The 18 year old women who was 26 weeks pregnant and
seeking an abortion told the staff of Germantown Reproductive Health Services
that she would not be relieved when the abortion was over and alluded to the
fact that abortion was murder. As a result of her comments and attitude
toward the abortion, Carhart turned her away and did not perform the procedure.
Leroy Carhart did not feel one of his patients had a "good enough
reason" to abort her child. Leroy Carhart "undermined" her
right to abort her child. That means that THE DEMOCRAT PARTY IS MORE PRO-ABORTION THAN LEROY CARHART.
It also appears that the
Democrat Party is more pro-abortion that NARAL. The current law in Maryland, states that...
"[T]he state may not
interfere with the decision of a woman to terminate a pregnancy: (1) Before the
fetus is viable; or (2) At any time during the woman's pregnancy, if [t]he
termination procedure is necessary to preserve the life or health of the woman;
or . . . [t]he fetus is affected by a genetic defect or serious deformity or
abnormality." Md. Code Ann., Health-Gen. § 20-209 (Enacted 1991).
NARALs' response to this
law states:
"NARAL Pro-Choice
America supports the legal framework established in Roe v. Wade and
does not oppose restrictions on post-viability abortions, such as Maryland's,
that contain adequate exceptions to protect the life and health of the
woman."
NARAL states they do
"not oppose restrictions on post-viability abortions." This
means that the DEMOCRAT PARTY PLATFORM, that states it is opposed
to "ANY and ALL" efforts to limit abortions, IS MORE
PRO-ABORTION THAN NARAL.
This is extremely
shocking to me... the Democrat Party Platform is more pro-abortion than
notorious late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart and more pro-abortion than the
most outspoken pro-abrtion group NARAL. If you are a member of the
Democrat party... I hope that you know what your party stands for!
